Bonnie Doon is originally an American sock brand, founded in 1957 by Alex Lee Wallau. Wallau wanted to incorporate his Scottish heritage and affinity into the name. Bonnie means beautiful, and Doon refers to a river in Scotland.

Since 1969, the brand has been introduced to the Dutch and European markets. BonnieDoon® has since become a leading European legwear label, offering a comprehensive and wide range of legwear products, from baby socks, children's tights, designer pantyhose, leg warmers to men's size 52 socks. Additionally, BonnieDoon® is also renowned for its design and production of private labels and custom-made legwear.

 

BonnieDoon® works with its own stylists and exclusively manufactures its products in Italy and Portugal. This is done to ensure the quality of the products, as well as to prioritize environmental and labor conditions. All BonnieDoon® products are produced under OEKO-TEX and/or GOTS certification. Naturally, BonnieDoon® always guarantees smooth toe seams, the finest combed cotton, pre-washed/steamed products, and affordable legwear with unique BonnieDoon® styling.

 

Since 2023, BonnieDoon® has been located in a brand new distribution center and office complex. Being highly conscious of environmental responsibility, BonnieDoon® has made clear choices to minimize its CO2 footprint. For instance, BonnieDoon® is the first to have a completely gas-free company building, avoiding polluting air and sea transportation from Asia, operating without field sales representatives and mileage-intensive leased cars, shipping in an environmentally friendly manner with DHL GoGreen, replenishing rainwater into the ground, generating its own energy with solar panels, and even installing beehives to contribute to the preservation of biodiversity.
